Huffer is a well-known New Zealand streetwear brand founded in 1997. Initially inspired by snowboarding and outdoor adventure, the brand has evolved to become a key player in urban streetwear, having built a reputation for blending fashion and functionality. Huffer is celebrated for its high-quality jackets, outerwear, and casual apparel, combining practicality with a laid-back, modern aesthetic. With its roots firmly planted in Kiwi culture, the brand has expanded internationally.

We were excited to see Huffer come to the Mānawa Bay Outlet Centre. The objective was to protect its newest location with a modern, unobtrusive shopfront security solution that blends seamlessly with the store’s design.

Scope

Solution design, project management, install and support a shopfront EAS system with visitor counting and remote service integrations

Technology

Cross Point Maxus AM50 EAS with integrated visitor counting. With powerful bi-directional sensors, the AM50 is designed with maximum transparency to minimise entrance obstruction.

Solution

The Maxus AM50 not only protects Huffer’s shopfront with article surveillance, but integrated visitor counting enables the team and their management to monitor fluctuations in foot traffic across the week. This allows for more effective staff rostering around peak day parts, and optimal management of the store’s major overhead.

Using a high-transparency model such as the AM50 ensures that Huffer’s EAS system blends seamlessly with the store’s interior. Meanwhile, remote service gives the team peace of mind, knowing that in the rare instance that an issue arises with their EAS system, it can be fixed quickly and effectively by Vitag’s remote support team.

Outcome

This Cross Point EAS model has been designed specifically to blend into store environments with its transparent form factor, and to deliver high performance and detection in a challenging mall environment. The Huffer store at Mānawa Bay now operates with robust, discreet EAS shopfront security and traffic insights, protecting its products, staff and customers, and enabling the store to operate at maximum cost efficiency.
