Mission

Rainbow’s End is a world of fun, but when the school holidays arrive their retail area increasingly becomes a target for thieves. With a range of merchandise attractive to kids, the team had noticed shrinkage increasing over these busy periods, especially when store staff were under pressure with high visitor numbers. Working with Vitag, their goal was to better control shoplifting with visible security on the entry & exit points

Scope

Install EAS gates to two entry and exit points to secure the retail area. Provide remote service and analytics to provide insights on foot traffic and conversion

Technology

Cross Point AM40 Fortus pedestals – provide visible security at store entrances.

Cross Connect Access Point – enables visitor counting and remote service by our team, providing analytics and 24-hour support to the store

Solutions design, project management, installation, service and support, onsite training for 40 team members.

Outcome

With a large team, communication and training were key to installing a system at Rainbows End that works effectively to deter thieves. To date the new Cross Point EAS protection is making a clear difference and we’ve been able to respond quickly in support as the store team adjust to the new system.

The store team have also enjoyed the additional insights from their analytics which will help them to refine their sales strategy and target setting. Rainbows End are looking forward to a successful summer of gift sales.

Esprit started a trial of Vitag Mini-Max tags in early 2010. Prior to installing the tags we had exceptionally high shrinkage in a number of our Concession Stores. The results have been outstanding with the shrinkage improvements of between 40% to 70%. We have since increased the number of stores from an initial 7 stores to approx 23.
