Mission

With lots of smaller, high value items around the store, The Rock Shop’s products are an attractive target for shoplifters.

Throughout the music specialists’ stores, a significant proportion of the stock is kept in a series of cabinets – each with a different key. So, in order to show a single product the team juggled a wad of different keys every time they needed access to an item, causing unnecessary wait times for the customer.

Selling musical instruments is a high involvement process. Staff can be tied up demonstrating products and focusing on just one customer for a length of time – making it difficult for them to monitor all areas of the store and watch for suspicious behaviour.

We set out to find a solution that kept small, desirable items secure, freeing The Rock Shop’s team to focus on customer service.

Scope

Specify and install locks to secure small, high value merchandise on hangsell walls and in cabinets. The new system should complement the existing EAS gates from Crosspoint to create a whole-store merchandise security solution.

Outcome

Now, the store’s cabinets are secured with a sleek and convenient OneKEY solution from Invue, and an IR StopLok™ system for hangsell merchandise. The Rock Shop’s staff have complete peace of mind – their display stock is protected so they don’t have to be everywhere at once. They’ve also reduced their wad of different cabinet keys down to a single OneKEY that is reprogrammed each morning for ultimate security.

Each team member has their own OneKEY that gives them access to the whole store, making life easier for staff and reducing customer wait times. The staff love the OneKEY technology and the fact that they can concentrate on great customer service, rather than grappling to find the right key every time they want to show an item.

With OneKEY from InVue and EAS from Cross Point, theft rates at The Rock Shop are dropping already.
